Lifelong Learning

Exploration and discovery are a vital part of living well and play a key role in healthy aging; that’s why Lawrence Presbyterian Manor encourages lifelong learning. Studies show that people who stay intellectually stimulated throughout life are typically happier and healthier. Residents of Lawrence Presbyterian Manor routinely participate in a wide variety of activities – both on and off campus – that keep them actively engaged in the community and the world.

Just Ask

We offer Just Ask educational sessions to the general public as well as our residents, presenting the latest information on topics of interest to older adults. Topics include senior fitness, how to recognize the warning signs of Alzheimer's disease and heart disease, financial planning, identity safety and how to avoid scams.

In addition to hosting special guest speakers and demonstrations for residents at all levels of care, Lawrence Presbyterian Manor participates in senior sessions at the Spencer Museum of Art and monthly book talks at the Lawrence Public Library. We routinely schedule trips to museums and other cultural venues not just in Lawrence, but also in Kansas City, Topeka and surrounding cities. Our community’s strong cultural ties to the University of Kansas offer residents many unique opportunities for lifelong learning.

Lawrence Presbyterian Manor offers educational opportunities through the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at the University of Kansas. Courses are offered on-site throughout the year.
