GET TO KNOW OUR AEGIS THERAPIES TEAM

As we celebrate Rehabilitation Week September 16-22, we want to recognize the team at Aegis Therapies® who are responsible for providing life-changing services for all our residents.

Carmen Crandall, physical therapy assistant

Carmen has been part of the Lawrence Presbyterian Manor therapy team since January 1, 2018. She has more than 30 years of experience. Carmen has always loved working in long-term care and home health because of the people she gets to work with and their interesting stories.

In her spare time, Carmen serves many positions at church and loves to antique shop, golf, visit local wineries and help out on the family farm in Doniphan county. She is also very involved in the county 4-H program, is currently the president of the county extension executive program and serves on the K-State Research and Extension State Advisory Council. Carmen has two grown children, one new grand baby and a pet hedgehog named Cupcake.

Amanda Ames, occupational therapist

Amanda joined Aegis Therapies one year ago and spends her days on the therapy team evaluating and treating residents in short-term rehab and long-term care. She assesses their impairments affecting daily activities and quality of life, and provides an individualized treatment plan to address those impairments and functional deficits to increase the resident’s independence. Her favorite part of the job is being a part of improving an individual’s quality of life and increasing independence.

When she’s not at the office, Amanda enjoys spending time with family and friends and being active by either taking hikes or exercising at the gym. She is the oldest of four children and adopted a three-year-old golden retriever/German shepherd mix earlier this year.

Malory Meier, certified occupational therapy assistant/therapy coordinator

For the past year and a half, Malory has been working as the therapy coordinator for Aegis Therapies where she has a variety of responsibilities that include treating patients, scheduling and collaborating with team members.

Ever since she started college, Malory has wanted to work with this age group. Once she found occupational therapy, she knew it was right for her. Malory recently got married and would like to get a dog.

Jessica Clutter, physical therapist

As the newest member of the therapy team, Jessica joined Aegis Therapies two months ago but brings more than six years of experience with her to the job. As the supervising PT, Jessica develops all of the plans of care, assesses patients during care and discharges patients once they’ve reached their goals. The thing she enjoys most about her job is working with the therapy team and the relationships developed with each patient, as well as seeing each patient succeed and meet their goals.

In her spare time, Jessica enjoys spending time with family, going to church, running half marathons and anything outdoors. She and her husband, Chris, have a four-year-old son and two Havanese dogs.

Trisha Bahr, certified physical therapy assistant

Approaching two years of work at Aegis Therapies, Trisha Bahr is the program director. She provides clinical support to the team for patient identification, education and training on new processes, completes audits and manages the operational side of business to ensure they’re providing the best services possible within a reasonable budget. Her favorite part of the job is watching the therapists grow as clinicians and become part of their patients’ lives.

In her free time, Trisha enjoys watching her daughters participate in activities and sports, leading two Girl Scout troops, playing softball and spending time with her husband of 12 years.
