“Second generation” resident Joan Messineo loving life at Lawrence PMMA

When choosing a place to call home during retirement, it never hurts to have some firsthand experience. Lawrence Presbyterian Manor resident Joan Messineo knows that as well as anyone.

“My Dad, after he became a widower, was a resident here at the Manor,” she said. “After seeing the way he was treated and the incredible care he received, it was a no brainer for me to retire here, too.”

Messineo, who lived in Las Vegas for a time due to her husband’s work as a Presbyterian minister, loves being back in Lawrence.

“My kids and grandkids both went to KU,” she said. “I still love watching the games, usually with my son at his house.”

As for the community itself, Messineo says she truly loves her surroundings and looks forward to many years of loving life at Lawrence Presbyterian Manor!
