RESIDENTS FINDS LIFE AT THE PMMA ENRICHED WITH FRIENDSHIP AND FUN

In the summer of 2019, resident Thelma Bellinger came to the realization that she no longer wanted to live at her home of the past 67 years.

“My husband, Ron, and I had lived in our house for about 67 years. He died about a year ago. I was capable of staying home and taking care of myself, but it was so lonely because most of my friends are deceased or live here and my children are all busy. So, I told my children I didn’t want to spend another winter in the house by myself,” said Thelma.

Picking her next home was easier than expected.

“We looked at five or six different places. So many of the places were so far to walk to get to anything. Some of them didn’t have as many activities. I had quite a few friends here, so I decided to come here. I really am glad that I did. Everybody is really friendly and nice here. And the food is very good,” said Thelma.

Thelma also enjoys trying the activities.

“I go up and do exercises every day and when they have chair volleyball, I do that, too. We’re all going to the country club for lunch tomorrow as a holiday outing. I just like to do as much as I can,” said Thelma.
